Foothills Hospital Parkade

How do you design a parking structure that works like a parkade but doesn’t look like a parkade?

On the surface, this seems like a very straightforward project – GEC consulted on the planned expansion of the existing Foothills Hospital Parkade. However, our plans wouldn’t just add parking spaces, but utilize structural steel to simplify construction, add two new parking levels instead one and better integrate the parkade into the Hospital itself.

Completed in 2002, the expansion came in on schedule and under budget and won the CISC Steel Design Awards for Excellence, Structural Category.
