Adrian is a Partner at GEC and a registered architect in Alberta, BC, Saskatchewan, and Ontario. With a Master of Architecture and a Bachelor of Environmental Design from the University of Manitoba, LEED accreditation, and Indigenous Canada certification from the University of Alberta, Adrian brings a thoughtful, well-rounded perspective to his work. Since joining GEC in 2011, he has grown through roles from Intern Architect to Partner, helping shape the firm’s thoughtful, people-centred approach to design.
Adrian leads residential projects across the housing spectrum, from deeply affordable and supportive housing to market-driven multi-family and mixed-use developments. His portfolio spans Alberta, BC, and Ontario, and reflects a commitment to designing housing that is dignified, responsive, and enduring. Whether addressing urgent needs like housing insecurity or delivering vibrant communities for the market sector, Adrian approaches each project with the same core values: curiosity, care, and a drive for impact.
Adrian believes great architecture must serve both people and place. He’s at his best when design meets real-world constraints, balancing creativity with budget, policy, and the challenges of actually getting things built. Adrian is known among colleagues as calm, collaborative, and quietly tenacious. He brings clarity and cohesion to teams, helping foster the kind of culture where great work—and good humour—can thrive.
Outside the studio, Adrian enjoys movie nights with his kids, home renovation projects, dining out, and quiet time in his backyard. He has strong opinions about maple syrup (Quebec, canned—no exceptions) and admits that if he weren’t an architect, he’d probably be a sommelier.
Adrian is proud of the range of projects he’s helped lead at GEC—from transitional housing like Ronald McDonald House Calgary to mixed-use developments like One12 and West Block. For him, architecture is a long game built one project at a time and shaped by the relationships that make it possible.
