Lacey Pearn

Partner

Since joining GEC in 2012, Lacey has played a key role in shaping GEC’s approach to interiors, bringing a grounded, hands-on mindset to every phase of the design process. As Partner and Interior Designer, she’s known for her curiosity, thoughtfulness, and ability to make even the most complex spaces feel intuitive, purposeful, and personal.

Lacey holds a Bachelor of Applied Interior Design from Mount Royal College and a diploma in Interior Design Technology from NAIT. She is a Licensed Interior Designer with the Alberta Association of Architects and holds registrations with NCIDQ, Interior Designers of Alberta, and Interior Designers of Canada.

Her work spans complex renovations, post-secondary, recreation, commercial office, multi-family residential, and hospitality projects. From early programming to design, documentation, and contract administration, Lacey is hands-on at every stage. She is driven to help clients rethink how they use their spaces and takes pride in seeing those ideas come to life in ways that enhance everyday experiences. To Lacey, interiors are where people truly connect with architecture—what they see, touch, and interact with every day—and she sees her role as helping make those moments meaningful.

Described by colleagues as diligent, adaptable, collaborative, and supportive (she’d add sarcastic and empathetic), Lacey is a team builder at heart. She believes the best ideas come from shared effort and that hard things feel easier when you tackle them together.

Outside of work, Lacey keeps life lively with basketball, outdoor adventures, and time with her young family. She has lived overseas, studied Japanese, worked as a florist, and restored VWs—where she learned to weld and grind. Whether she’s designing an interior, baking for a themed party, or building something by hand, Lacey brings care and craftsmanship to everything she touches. She brings a thoughtful practicality to everything she does.  For her, great design isn’t about perfection—it’s about creating spaces that work, support people, and make life a little better.
