Nestled in Edmonton’s Wîhkwêntôwin/Oliver neighbourhood, CX Tower is reshaping what market rental housing can be. The design respects the existing fabric while introducing a contemporary presence aligned with Edmonton’s City Plan and its goals for growth, affordability, and livability. Once a low-density site, the property is now a welcoming, mixed-residential community designed to support how people live and connect.

With a range of unit types—from three-bedroom townhomes to furnished four-bedroom suites for students—CX offers housing options for people at different stages of life. This mix fosters a more inclusive urban community, providing residents with the flexibility to find a home that suits their needs.

 

At the heart of the project is a belief in the value of shared space. Amenity areas feel like natural extensions of the home—comfortable, useful, and designed to bring people together.

The building’s simple, monochromatic palette gives it a clean and timeless look, while warm design touches at street level make it feel inviting. Front porches and active frontage encourage connection, and townhome-style entries add texture and life to the public realm.

As the first development approved under Edmonton’s new RA9 zoning, CX required a collaborative approach. The team worked closely with the City to navigate new planning frameworks and deliver a project that’s grounded in everyday experience, including a rooftop amenity that creates a place to gather and unwind, without exceeding height limits.
