We’re leading a major, multi-phase transformation that will make the centre even more welcoming, accessible, and connected to the people it serves. As the architect, interior designer, accessibility specialist, and prime consultant, we’ve partnered closely with the Lindsay Park Sports Society since 2015 to imagine what this space could be, not just for today but for generations to come.
Guided by a thoughtful master plan, the redevelopment includes a new family aquatic centre, brighter leisure areas, and a south addition that features a new main entrance, community gathering spaces, and fully accessible, gender-inclusive change rooms. These upgrades reflect the way the centre is used every day for swim meets, wellness classes, drop-in fitness, and everything in between.
But this isn’t just about expanding square footage. It’s about rethinking how a space supports the people who move through it. That means clear and intuitive wayfinding, smoother circulation, and design that respects all bodies and identities. It also means designing with care for the environment, with an energy target that’s 35% more efficient than NECB 2011 standards.
As one of Alberta’s largest aquatic centres and a top-tier sports facility in Western Canada, the MNP Community & Sport Centre already plays a vital role in Calgary’s daily life. The redevelopment is set to be complete ahead of the 2027 North American Indigenous Games, building on its legacy and making it truly welcoming for all.
