Stampede LRT Station Redevelopment

Improving connectivity to one of Calgary’s major urban destinations.

The redevelopment of the Stampede LRT Station reimagines the relationship between the Beltline and Stampede Park, transforming the station (which previously existed as a barrier between the two urban areas) into a vibrant gateway that allows for seamless pedestrian connections. The project focuses on sustainable urban integration, safety, comfort, convenience, and universal accessibility.

New station features include modern platforms, enhanced amenities (planters, benches, sidewalks, and upgraded lighting and signage), and better integration with surrounding developments. This redevelopment is an important part of Calgary’s urban renewal strategy to foster better connectivity, accessibility, and urban vibrancy in the city’s east end. The project is expected to be completed in the fall of 2024.
