Exploring the Future: Larry Wayne Richards on ‘Extended Realities’ at the GEC Lecture Series

We were thrilled to host Larry Wayne Richards for our GEC Lecture Series in Toronto!

Larry’s talk on “Extended Realities” took us on a fascinating journey through his early explorations of architecture and the digital realm, a topic he began exploring in the 1980s with the dawn of the internet and the World Wide Web. Fast forward 40 years, and his groundbreaking ideas are being reignited by the rapid advancements and shifts in science and technology.

Larry wrapped up his session with a powerful message: “In this new era, I believe we will need tremendous amounts of patience, cooperation, and generosity.”

Larry Wayne Richards, FRAIC, AIA/IA, is a professor, writer, and critic. He was Director of the Waterloo School of Architecture from 1982 to 1987. During 1997-2004, he was Dean of the Daniels Faculty of Architecture, Landscape, and Design at the University of Toronto, where he continues as Professor Emeritus.

Thanks for an incredible discussion, Larry! #GECLectureSeries #ExtendedRealities #Architecture #DigitalFuture #Innovation
