A home away from home.

The SAIT Polytechnic Student Residence is a 720-bed project designed to provide students with an engaging residence experience where they can meet with peers or recharge in their own rooms. The residence incorporates meeting rooms, commercial retail space, administration space, and a small conference centre making for a vibrant residential culture.

This project also had to function as a critical piece in the conversion of the SAIT campus to an urban campus and was integrated into the SAIT Master Plan and long term plans for growth. This was accomplished by locating the building on a North-South axis to reinforce the campus’ main pedestrian mall and by configuring the building to create a South facing protected pedestrian plaza. In addition to this, the central tower element serves as a large scale landmark and effectively locates SAIT Polytechnic in The City of Calgary.
