Canmore Recreation Centre Redevelopment

Enhancing the user experience.

Canmore Recreation Centre is a vibrant community hub that serves residents, neighbouring communities, and visiting teams. The building, which was constructed in 1983, serves as a tournament facility as well as an important event hosting venue for a variety of community events in the Bow Valley. The revitalization includes both arenas, the gym, dressing rooms, lobbies, and community spaces, as well as the refrigeration plant and building systems.

Despite the fact that this project was primarily focused on life cycle and building code upgrades, GEC expanded the budget to include the construction of new modern change rooms for the main spectator rink as well as the addition of a new multi-purpose room overlooking the two arenas.
