A step forward for NorQuest College.

As part of NorQuest’s overall Campus Master Plan, and to accommodate growth and create 21st Century Learning Environments, GEC partnered with NorQuest College to redevelop their Civic Employees Legacy Tower. GEC completed test fit planning of the Block and Stack, which resulted in an updated program, space standard documents, and decanting plans within the original building. In order to enhance the student experience, integrate the tower into the growing campus, and maintain the building’s original character, the team established guiding design principles. The principals included right to daylight, new student spaces, and an expression of the College’s diverse population.

GEC worked with the College and pre-construction advisor to develop a detailed phasing and implementation plan to minimize disruptions to the facility. The resulting tower redevelopment was completed while the facility remained fully occupied through construction.
