A transformative expansion to unite Edmonton.

The new LRT line will introduce a new low floor, ‘urban-style’ LRT train making it easy to take transit in Edmonton. When complete, the new line will comprise 26 kilometres of track, and 29 stations ranging in scale from neighbourhood stops to full transit centres with elevated stations and Park and Ride facilities. Each station is being designed with context in mind to respect the character and needs of each neighbourhood.

GEC is part of the AECOM Owners’ Engineer team to design the new Southeast to West LRT line in Edmonton. GEC led the design of the new Operations, Maintenance and Storage Facility (OMF); main downtown station and transfer connector at Churchill Square; the individualization of all typical station types to incorporate community identity and public art; enclosures for the Traction Power Substations and Signalization & Communications Equipment (TPSS); and design of the Overhead Catenary Support System (OCS).
