Calgary’s first condominium office tower, setting the standard.
Genco Place is a 14-storey condominium office building located at the west end of downtown Calgary. Building the tower completed the development of the last “derelict” left in the beltline. In 1981, only the parkade had been built when the economy crashed. The tower was cancelled, and the parkade operated with a small strip mall above until the current project was built and completed in 2007.
In the redevelopment of Genco Place, the existing single-story retail complex became a modern 14-storey concrete structure with four levels of underground parking. The design accommodates main floor retail space, an exterior plaza, and an interior entrance lobby. Floors 2 to 14 are designed for five units per floor in order to accommodate small businesses with full ownership of their own workspace.
