The new Nakî Transit Centre & Park and Ride is located along Campbell Road between St. Albert and Edmonton, and will be the future terminus of the forthcoming Edmonton LRT Metro Line. It is the City of St. Albert’s prime transit and operation centre, and is a pivotal to accessible transportation and commuter movement between St. Albert, Edmonton, and the Edmonton Metropolitan Region.
The Nakî Transit Centre & Park and Ride features 800 paved public parking stalls across two lots (expandable up to 1,600 stalls) and a concrete bus loop that accommodates 16 bus bays (expandable up to 24). The facility’s main transit centre building features washrooms, a vendor kiosk, bicycle storage facilities and a waiting area. The main building is anchored by a sculptural interior concrete wall that defines the waiting areas with seating and maximized exterior glazing. In addition, its perforated aluminum canopy acts as distinct visual beacon at night, and has generous exterior overhangs to provide shelter for passengers waiting outside.
