Restoring Calgary’s iconic landmark.
The Peace Bridge is a striking red helical pedestrian and cyclist bridge that spans the Bow River, offering picturesque views of Calgary’s downtown core and communities across the scenic landscape. Designed in 2012 by renowned architect Santiago Calatrava, this bridge is a landmark for residents and visitors alike. GEC’s upgrades to the structure were steel tension railings designed with safety, user comfort, durability, and low maintenance in mind. This new addition honours the integrity of the original concept while providing a practical and permanent solution to ensure the structure’s longevity.
