South Campus Community Ice Arena

New home, new legacy.

The University of Alberta will build a new 3,000 seat varsity arena and a 400 seat community arena as part of the plan to develop their south campus in Edmonton. The new South Campus Community Ice Arena will be the future home ice for the University of Alberta Golden Bears and Pandas. Both arenas will link to an adjacent high-performance sport training facility. For the varsity arena a single, top-loaded spectator bowl is steeply raked to create a home-ice advantage, while site grading allows spectators to enter at concourse level and move down to their seats.

The new building is designed to maximize the fan experience, right from the pre-game ceremonies to the final buzzer at the end of the game.
