A revitalized tower that welcomes every student, in every way.

The Civic Employee Legacy Tower at NorQuest College has been reimagined as more than an academic space—it is now a place where belonging is built into every detail. What began as a 1970s-era building has been transformed into an inclusive, welcoming environment that reflects NorQuest’s deep commitment to diversity, accessibility, and student success.

At its heart is a new student hub, designed as both a gathering place and a lifeline. Here, students find key services alongside spaces that encourage creativity, collaboration, and connection. Every element—from acoustically quiet rooms to comfortable waiting areas and an approachable central service desk—was shaped with care, recognizing the unique challenges many NorQuest students face.

Guided by barrier-free and culturally inclusive design, the tower now offers gender-inclusive washrooms, prayer and ablution spaces, and a fully accessible fitness studio. Together, these changes create an environment where every student feels supported, respected, and at home.

The renewal of the Legacy Tower is more than a renovation—it’s a reflection of NorQuest’s belief that when people feel they belong, they can thrive.

"GEC was professional and worked well with the college to find solutions that met the college's needs. The vibrant aesthetic design brought the 50-year-old building to life. They were able to take the limitations of structure and transform the space into a bright and open floorplan."
