The new School of Business is a key urban gateway, connecting the university’s campus to the surrounding downtown area and reinforcing the role of education in the economic and cultural vitality of the city.

Fostering creativity, innovation, and entrepreneurial energy in the heart of downtown Edmonton.

Set at a key gateway to downtown Edmonton, MacEwan’s new School of Business is more than just a building—it’s a catalyst for connection, opportunity, and economic growth. Purpose-built for over 7,500 students, the space blends flexible, tech-enabled classrooms with areas for real-world experience like internships, mentorships, and industry partnerships.

A bright central atrium anchors the seven-storey design, filling the building with natural light and making every floor easy to navigate and inviting to explore. The result is a vertical campus that encourages collaboration, connection, and a shared sense of momentum.

As the university continues to grow, this new home brings together academic, administrative, and community spaces in a way that’s adaptable, welcoming, and built to evolve. It’s a space that reflects MacEwan’s energy and ambition—and helps students bring both to life.

The building is targeting LEED Gold® Certification with sustainable design features such as energy-efficient systems and responsible material selection.

“The School of Business building will be a place where expertise and knowledge is shared with students who will go on to help grow the economy and contribute to their community. I look forward to watching this new addition to the downtown take shape over the next few years.”

- Amarjeet Sohi, Mayor of Edmonton
