On September 12, 2024, construction broke ground on the Leisure Expansion Aquatic Project (LEAP) at the MNP Community & Sport Centre! The goal of this project, several years in the making, will enhance aquatic amenities in the heart of Calgary, catering to Calgarians, their families, and surrounding communities in and around the downtown core and Beltline area. Working with our partners at the City of Calgary, M3 Development Management Ltd and Bird Construction, LEAP will see west and south expansions to the existing structure, and will feature a new front entrance and lobby, lazy river, hot tub, water slides, wading pool, play structure and viewing areas, universal and inclusive change rooms, gathering spaces, food and beverage options, and other amenities.
